Albany is a city located on both sides of the banks of Flint River in southwest Georgia. Its economy initially relied on manufacturing, transportation, and retail trade. The area then flourished from cotton growing by African American slaves. With several attractions, a visit here is always worth it. The Flint River Aquarium displays marine life and birds. Chehaw Park features trails and a zoo. When not exploring nature, take a walk along downtown Ray Charles Memorial and see a life-size statue of the famous musician who was born in Albany.
