Azle is a small suburban city in Texas with rural living standards. It’s bordered by many interesting places including Eagle Mountain Lake to the east and Fort Worth, Texas’ fifth-largest city, a little down southeast. From the beginning, Azle wasn’t a large city in terms of population. In fact, there isn’t any accurate time when people started inhabiting the area and the population pretty much remained steady as time went on. Bring the whole family or your whole crew to play favorite sports like volleyball, basketball, soccer, baseball, and disc golf. The park even has a playground for the kids. There’s something for everyone! Then after a tiring game, you can have a picnic amidst the shady areas of the trees.

2. Have a picnic at Melanie Park

Azle Historical Museum is a two-story building filled with photos, documents, artifacts and memorabilia of the history of Azle. Byra Stribling, B.J. Clark, Paul Worthen, and Beatrice Carter were the four instigators who came up with the idea of establishing a museum in honor of Azle’s past. The museum was established in 1976 and has since then relied on membership funds and occasional fundraisers. The museum is only open on Saturdays though so be sure to check out their website for more details.

Yup, Azle has its very own Central Park. Not to be confused with the famous one in New York, Azle Central Park offers a variety of amenities for many to enjoy. There are basketball and volleyball courts for sports enthusiasts. A walking trail is also available for people who wish to jog and burn some calories. There’s also a playground for the kids, a skate park for adrenaline junkies, a pavilion and gazebo for relaxing, and an amphitheater for mini-concerts. They conveniently have over 30 sites for their guests. They even have a laundry area for your washing needs. Pecan Acres RV Park is a 9-acre (3.6-hectare) campsite where you can bring your RVs and go camping Texas-style.
