This was previously the historic Van Orden Mansion. In the year 1939, they built the Sauk County Historical Museum inside the mansion. The Van Orden Mansion was constructed in 1904. You will get to see many historical artifacts that are hundreds of years old. These artifacts are placed in all the rooms of this two-story mansion for the visitors to see. Apart from the museum, you can also visit Sauk County History Center which was opened in 2013.

Pewits Nest is a place where all the nature lovers in Baraboo should visit. It has a 30 to 40-foot (9 to 12-meter) deep gorge which was once covered with a glacier. When the glacier depleted and vanished with time, the area turned into a deep gorge. Many families go for a picnic at Pewit’s Nest. Explore the mesic forest, cliffs, hemlock, white pine, red cedar, and yellow birch in this spot. Also, enjoy hiking and swimming.

Al. Ringling Theater was started in 1915 and since that day, it has been ruling over the hearts of people. It was built by the same person who built Ringling Brothers Circus. This grand French opera house reflects the design of European architecture. You should go and watch a show in this marvelous theatre, then take an official tour to explore its majestic art gallery. You can book this tour in advance by appointment. A guide will lead your tour and will define every minute detail about the history of the theatre, its gallery and the Ringling family. Al. Aldo Leopold Foundation was founded in 1982 to spread the awareness of living in harmony with nature without destroying it. This foundation was started by the five children of Aldo and Estella Leopold. Visitors can explore the breathtaking landscape and go hiking and discover new trails.
