This was previously the historic Van Orden Mansion. In the year 1939, they built the Sauk County Historical Museum inside the mansion. The Van Orden Mansion was constructed in 1904. You will get to see many historical artifacts that are hundreds of years old. These artifacts are placed in all the rooms of this two-story mansion for the visitors to see. Apart from the museum, you can also visit Sauk County History Center which was opened in 2013.

When the glacier depleted and vanished with time, the area turned into a deep gorge. Many families go for a picnic at Pewit’s Nest.
