This work of art by the famous sculptor from Bavaria, Raffaele Polli, is made from pink granite for which Baveno is famous. It depicts a life-size stonemason ready to start work on the block of pink stone. On the background is the serene Gulf of Borromeo.

You can at once smell the scent of bread being baked in the oven and all you need to do to find it is to follow where your nose leads you. Aside from bread, there are cupcakes, pastries, pizza, and tarts with fruit fillings. Two nice and helpful ladies man the store and service is excellent.
