Bellflower is “The Friendly City” of California, the USA. There’s no definitive origin story for its name. It was called “Firth” for a time, and then it became “Somerset”. The name “Bellflower” could be a derivation from the French, “belle fleur”. During the pioneer days, there was a settler with a Bellefleur apple orchard in the north of town. Nevertheless, it is certain that the city stands on Spanish land, which was used to herd livestock. The land title was dated 1784. The important role of cattle in livelihood continued throughout the Mexican occupation. What started as a settlement with a few families is now a densely populated area with its eyes on the future. Now, we give you a great opportunity to learn about this beautiful flower in the southeast of LA County. Read about the top things to do in Bellflower, California, below.
