Located in Sullivan County, New Hampshire, Claremont is a little town with a pretty long history attached to it. 1. Enjoy an evening at Claremont Opera House
The Claremont Opera House was opened on July 22, 1897, at a cost of 62,000 USD. Built in an Italian Renaissance Revival, the historic building is placed on the National Register of Historic Places. Originally, the building housed a meeting area and place where balls and events took place until the 1900s when it officially became the Claremont Opera House. In the 1960s, it went into disuse and was about to be demolished until a committee of locals saved it and restored the interior. And it is now once again a home of the arts in Claremont.

2. Stroll through Moody Park
Retired businessman William H.H Moody donated this plot of land to the city of Claremont in 1916 and today, it is a Claremont local landmark. The park is pretty big and is usually host to some events like mountain biking and races but generally, people come here to hang out, go for a jog or a walk with the dog and enjoy nature. In the winter, there is a public skating rink and in the summer, there are picnic areas with grills and tables. This is a great spot to see the natural beauty of New Hampshire.

Founded in 1909, the Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church mainly served the Russian population of Claremont at the beginning of the 20th century. Many Russian immigrants settled here because of the need and demand for factory workers in Claremont, so they needed their own place of worship. Since then, the site has maintained its importance not only in the Orthodox community but in the community of Claremont as a whole.

4. Try an escape-room challenge at Escape Factory

The recent trend of escape rooms has made its way to Claremont with the Escape Factory. For the uninitiated, an “escape room” locks you in a room with a group of your friends and you have 60 minutes to find and follow clues to escape. Each room has a different theme to it so there is definitely a good incentive to come back and try the other rooms. There’s even a VR arcade on-site as well as a restaurant if breaking out of rooms gives you an appetite.
