From being a Forsyth County beef cattle and poultry farm established in 1968, Warbington Farms has transformed its operations into a family-friendly destination since 2010. The farm now functions as a fun park boasting attractions such as a petting zoo barn, a hayride, corb cribs, a sandbox, and slides.
As a strong agriculture advocate in Georgia, it shares the farm atmosphere with the public in creative ways. Yearly, it plants strawberries in approximately 1.2 hectares (3 acres) of its land and opens the area to the community in time for picking; plenty of pumpkins cover the fields during fall.
The farm also has a suite perfect for special occasions like birthday parties, family reunions, corporate events, and even bonfire parties. 2. Have some active recreation at Big Creek Greenway
What is a greenway, you say? It is a linear park that promotes conservation and recreation and provides environmental education and alternative transportation to the community where it is located. Big Creek Greenway is a multi-use trail that tracts from Roswell to Cumming, Georgia. It has multiple trailheads across the cities it traverses and provides a great place for easy walking, running, and biking. Big Creek’s trails in Cumming, Forsyth County, are concrete and there are boardwalk paths that are accessible via five trailhead locations. Each trailhead features parking and bathroom facilities.
The area is also home to some amazing wildlife such as species of birds and deer. The park is well maintained, properly marked with signage, and kept safe.

Located on Lake Lanier, Mary Alice Beach Park is a good place for enjoying some quality time with family. The beach is nice with plenty of space and lots of sand for children to play and build castles. Picnic tables and grills are spread all over the park, to enable people to enjoy lakeside dinner. It is a great spot for family picnics and not a dull moment. The park is mostly clean and people come here to take a swim in the lake, boat, or walk along the beautiful trails. Pets are not allowed and consumption of alcohol is prohibited in the park. Plenty of parking is available near the park.

4. Go hiking at Sawnee Mountain Preserve
If you are looking for a nice trail without having to traverse many difficult parts, hiking at Sawnee Mountain Preserve will be something you will enjoy. Sawnee Mountain Preserve is spread over 963 acres (390 hectares) and is an absolute jewel of the area. The view from the top is simply amazing and worth the hike. These trails can be enjoyed with children as well and can be a nice getaway trip for the entire family. The hike itself is very enjoyable and the super friendly staff make the journey even more fun. The park is neat, clean, and well-maintained and it is a nice, quiet corner to find some peace from the maddening everyday life.

Cumming Aquatic Centre has an outdoor pool and an indoor instructional pool and it is open all year round. The indoor instructional pool is huge with multiple swimming lanes. Height diving boards are also there for professional divers to practice. The outdoor pool is seasonal, with water slides and other activity areas for families. It is a safe place with guards and is clean and tidy for a trip with family and kids. There are family changing rooms as well as changing rooms for ladies and gents. The staff is friendly and prices are reasonable.

If it is the fish feeding activity you are looking forward to indulge in with the kids, then Buford Trout Hatchery is a great place to feed trouts of different sizes. The place is beautiful with a nice walking path and a view of the lake. It is a great place to enjoy the quiet of the woods as well.

Lake Lanier is named after Sidney Lanier, an American poet. It was built as a measure for flood control and storing water for supplying to various areas. It has now become a tourist spot as well, providing amazing views of the lake and its numerous trails to enjoy. It is now one of Georgia’s largest lakes and is a great place for boating. Other activities that can be enjoyed in the area are fishing, reading, or simply having fun at the beach with friends and family. The speeds and hazards on the lake are well-marked. Do note that this place is particularly busy on weekends.

8. Enjoy ice skating at The Ice Complex
If you are looking at ice skating for fun or even for learning, then this is one of the cleanest facilities in Cumming to skate. The instructors are great and patient for people wanting to learn. The ice is always very well-kept and the staff is extremely professional and well-trained. Showers are clean and tidy and they have locker rooms for safekeeping of the belongings. It is a nice little facility for hosting birthday parties and they have a snack bar in case people feel peckish after skating. This complex became operational in 2010 and since then, has been helping the people of Cumming have fun on ice!

The Caney Creek Preserve in Cumming is a hidden gem of a park. The park is spread over 63 acres (25.5 hectares). There is a nice, long trail of around 1.2 miles (1.9 km) for walking and soaking in nature’s beauty. There is ample parking for people who come by their own vehicle for a family outing. There are two entrances for this park and parking is available on both sides. There is a uniquely designed, dinosaur-themed kids play area and this can be a great place for outdoor parties, too! This place isn’t very crowded and it can be a good park to walk your dog, too!

The Forsyth County Public Library houses quite a few books for people with varied interests. The staff there is kind and friendly and always willing to lend a helping hand when needed. There are computers with an internet connection for those needing to browse for information. There is a bookstore inside the library selling used books at great prices. The selection of books and movies is simply amazing and story times organized for kids are both fun and interactive.

Haw Creek Park is a great park to take the kids for a fun-filled day or an evening out! The park spans around 85 acres or 34 hectares and have well shaded trails that are 3.3 miles (5.3 kilometres) long—an expansive space for great things to do in Cumming, Georgia. The playground and the trails are unique and very different from the rest of the playgrounds. The trails here are amazing for bike riding as well and for training young kids. This place makes a good picnic spot for the entire family. There is a skills area that is worth spending time in, too. Children can enjoy swings and the play area after their bike ride.

This skating facility in Cumming is a nice place to roller skate for people of all age groups. Little Ridge Park is one of the best places in Cumming to go swimming or for a picnic with the entire family. It is a nice little park situated on Lake Lanier and offers some nice trails for walking. It is a dog-friendly place and you can tag your furry friend along too! There are some spots in the park that are great fishing spots. If you intend to spend some time in nature with your family, then this is a must-visit place for you. There are multiple spots from where you can get your boat in water and there are numerous options for water sports, too.

This sports bar has some great ambience, good food, and a variety of drinks options. It has over 100 beers on tap and others in bottles and cans. It serves everything from wings to burgers and wraps. It is particularly famous among football fans as it is a nice place to enjoy a game or two with friends. The staff is nice and friendly and service is prompt.
