Enniskillen Castle is a historic building in the town of the same name and is home to a number of museums. Fermanagh County Museum offers exhibits relating to prehistory and natural history of the area, including local crafts and pottery. Visitors can learn about the castle’s history, where it housed the Gaelic Maguire chieftains in the past. Other attractions in the museums include the Full-Circle Art Gallery, exhibits relating to rural traditions, and the history of the Kingdom of Lough Erne.

The castle stands above a lake on a rocky bluff and feels soaked in history, with many stories behind it. 3. Hike Cuilcagh Mountain Park & Cuilcagh BoardWalk

For anyone who enjoys a good hike, Cuilcagh Mountain Park & Cuilcagh BoardWalk is a moderate to difficult 12 mi (20 km) set of looped trails heading up to the summit of Cuilcagh Mountain. Taking the Legnabrocky Trail is a four- to six-hour hike that returns via a section of the Ulster Way trail. Beautiful, sweeping views over the surrounding countryside can be enjoyed on the hike and at the summit.

4. Admire the art and history of Castle Coole

Castle Coole is a striking, 18th-century Neo-classical mansion in Enniskillen, surrounded by a beautifully landscaped, wooded park. The park is ideal for a relaxing stroll, while the building offers a glimpse into the life of the past in what was the home of the Earls of Belmore. Carnmore Viewpoint offers spectacular views for miles over the surrounding Fermanagh countryside. Walking trails are available through the Doon forest and it is also perfect for mountain biking and dog walking. An ideal loop walk covers 5 mi (8 km) through the peaceful and lovely countryside. 6. Visit the 18th-century Florence Court

Florence Court is a large 18th-century Georgian house surrounded by a beautiful estate, 8 mi (13 km) from Enniskillen, and set in the foothills of Cuilcagh Mountain. Visitors can enjoy a guided tour of the mansion and learn about the Cole family and their staff that lived there 250 years ago. Walking and cycling trails are available in the adjoining forest park, where a blacksmith’s forge and water-powered sawmill can be seen. The home offers a gift shop and a café, serving snacks and drinks.

8. Explore the historic Tully Castle

Tully Castle is a fortified house located on Tully Point in Enniskillen. The property was built for Sir John Hume, who lived there until 1641. There is a visitor’s center set in a restored farmhouse on the property offering exhibits relating to the history and story of the castle. Visitors should note that no unaccompanied children under 16 years of age can enter the castle.

10. Party Northern Ireland-style at Granny Annies

Granny Annie’s is a franchise system of bars in Northern Ireland. The family-owned business runs as a bar and kitchen as well as a live club venue with music and entertainment. Breakfast, a la carte lunch, and dinner can be enjoyed at Granny Annie’s, including a selection of local, Northern Ireland fare. The bars are named after Granny Annie, who was born in Limavady in 1916. She is known for her love of socializing and dancing. Each bar is decorated with different kinds of clocks, as Granny was known for never being late. Granny loved baking, and the replica of her stove can be seen in most of the venues. The toilets are particularly interesting here, as they are a replica of Annie’s dressing room and decorated with many of her bonnets and handbags.
