In the heart of South-Central Wisconsin, the book-loving, liberal college town of Fitchburg is a grassy suburb of the capital city of Madison. Four Winds Farm is a working permaculture farm and community centre that offers a space for locals and tourists to learn about permaculture. The centre’s historic barn was also subjected to a restoration project and now offers a space for people to rent for various occasions. Speaking of occasions, the centre’s main draw is its rental service. You can rent any one of the various rooms in the centre to hold parties, weddings, and other celebrations.

These varied rooms include The Library, which is great for small groups, The Loft, which is perfect for more formal events, The Nook, whose kitchen is perfect for gatherings with an emphasis on food, and The Patio, which showcases a wonderful view of the farm.

2. Visit Jenni & Kyle Preserve

A unique park that was built to cater to children and persons with disabilities, Jenni & Kyle Preserve offers many facilities that are accessible to everyone. These facilities include a play area, foraging spots, a picnic area, and various fishing spots around the park. There is also a hiking trail and a paved bicycle trail. Hunting is also permitted though only bows are allowed, and you are required to get a hunting permit before proceeding.

Finally, this park serves as a memorial and namesake for Harvey and Patricia Wilmeth’s grandchildren who both died due to a neurological disorder.
