Home to an abundance of picturesque sights, natural wealth, and things to do, the city is quite an extraordinary vacation destination. It draws several thousands of tourists from across the states and that is perhaps why it has also become a popular festival destination – the Island Festival, the Yankee Doodle Days, and The Island Art Fair, all are hosted here. Here, we’ve done the legwork for you and put together a bunch of things to do in Grand Ledge, Michigan. Bookmark this and consider your getaway sorted.

1. Go fishing at Jaycee Park

Sprawled across 2.5ha (6 acres) approximately, Jaycee Park is easily one of Grand Ledge’s best parks. It is just about a five-minute walk from the city’s downtown and bordering the Grand River, it makes for a fabulous place for you to stroll around and for the kids to have a fun time on the playground. However, what the park is most famous for is fantastic access to the river that it provides, attracting hordes of fishing enthusiasts to cast their line. Suckers, Carp, Northern Pike, Bullhead, Rock Bass, and Smallmouth Bass are only a few of the many species of fish you’ll find here. So, get that tackle box and fishing rod ready, folks. It’s fishing time!

2. Trek along Lincoln Brick Park's many hiking trails

Another one of Grand Ledge’s great city-owned parks is Lincoln Brick Park, home to about 5km (3 miles) of beautiful hiking trails. However, don’t be mistaken about the trail distance being short. Within this short stretch are several different kinds of natural habitats that you can hike through and explore. Just go in for any one of the park’s nine trails and you’ll be good. Although, the best hiking route is touted to be a combination of the Deer Run, Beechnut, Cherry Ridge, and Tallman trails. Taking the whole experience a notch higher is a fabulous panoramic view of the river frontage, all of which you can marvel at up close and personal. If you’re there in winter and there’s a sufficient amount of snow, you can even go in for some snowshoeing!
