Founded in 1986, KC Classic Auto Display & Museum is a fascinating place to visit both for car enthusiasts as well as the general public. The auto shop-cum-museum has over 50 classic and muscle cars on display. They have cars from the 50s, 60s and early 70s as well as several muscle cars. Many of the displayed vehicles have small signs in the windows detailing a little information about them. KC Classic Auto Display & Museum also buy, sell, and trade in cars.

Buffalo Meadows Park is a lovely 20-acre (8 hectares) park that is perfect to go for a jog in Lenexa. The public park has a paved 0.81 miles (1.3 km) long perimeter trail that is suitable for jogging, biking, or hiking. The park also features two playgrounds, a large open play area for kids, a shelter that can seat 64 people, clean restrooms, and ample parking space. The wide open spaces of Buffalo Meadows Park are also great for a family picnic.

Located in a corner of Sar-Ko-Par Trails Park, Legler Barn Museum is a limestone barn originally constructed in 1864 that has now been converted into a museum. Visitors to the Legler Barn can view its collection of historical artefacts, archival documents, or take guided tours by trained staff. This 44-acre (17 hectares) off-leash area is open year-round and has several dog-friendly features like a dog swim area, wood chip and natural surface trails through grassland and wooded areas, paved trail to the lake and beach area, etc. The area is very well-maintained and undergoes a weekly routine maintenance closure ensuring the safety of both dogs and owners. Tucked away in a quiet neighbourhood is Matt Taylor Park, a 3.1-acre (1.25 hectare) park in Lenexa that is perfect for spending a day out with your family, friends or partner. The park has several picnic tables in a sheltered area that can seat up to 64 people. A barbecue grill, drinking fountain, and ample parking make it the ideal place to enjoy a picnic with your loved ones. A paved hiking trail is also present around the park along with playgrounds, tennis courts, and a basketball court. There is a play area for one - four-year-old children and bigger kids will enjoy the advanced play area with bigger equipment.

Situated within Sar-Ko-Par Trails Park are the headquarters of Lenexa Historical Society Complex. The complex consists of Legler Barn that houses a museum dedicated to the city’s history, a herb garden, Lenexa Train Depot, and Wiedenmann Strang Line Wait Station. Visitors can enjoy a picnic at the herb garden or visit the museums inside the train depot and the wait station. Children can also climb onto the ends of a caboose parked on partial train tracks.
