A unique destination at Polokwane, the Hugh Exton Photographic Museum is one you shouldn’t miss. The museum is housed inside a beautifully restored Dutch church. Once you enter, you will be mesmerized by 23,000 pieces of glass negatives and photographs taken by Mr. Hugh Exton. His photographs are interesting as they seem to tell the historical story of Polokwane between 1892 and 1945. Mr. Exton was also alive during the Anglo-Boer War, where he served as a journalist and correspondent, so visitors will get a glimpse of how life was like back then. It’s an interesting and artistic way to view the city’s rich history through the literal lens of another person.
