The tree lighting tradition is a significant part of the Christmas celebration marking the beginning of holiday festivities. Now in its 38th year, the annual tree-light ceremony is set to happen again this year at Pioneer Courthouse Square. The festivities fairly kicked off upon the arrival of the 75-foot (23-meter) tall Douglas fir in early November. The tree is adorned with 14,000 colorful LED lights.

Set to commence on November 25, 2022, the tree-lighting event will welcome crowds again after two years of virtual celebrations.
