Pioneer Crossing Park is the newest park in Shawnee City, and other than offering the normal amenities for play, rest and relaxation that you would find in the rest of the parks, it also comes with a rich history that touches on the core of the existence of the city as depicted by the pioneer wagon trails. These are demonstrated on the native grasses and plaques that commemorate the pioneer trails that pass within the city. They include the California Road, The Fort Leavenworth Military Road, The Santa Fe Trail, and the Oregon Trail that leads to the Rocky Mountains. Also present in the park is a sculpture of Dick Williams, as well as a three-dimensional mural that depicts cattle-drawn wagons crossing the prairie.

This is a beautiful linear park with over 15 miles (24 kilometres) of bicycles and pedestrian trails. Also present in the park is three miles of equestrian trails, lots of picnic sites, and open spaces ideal for jogging and hiking. It also has a dedicated children playground with lots of swings and slides the little ones to also have their fair share of fun.
