Spanish Fort sure has a fair share of unspoiled historical structures waiting to be discovered. If you’re a culture vulture and an enthusiast of ruins, Pineda Island Resort must grace your list of things to do. It was opened in 1960 as a recreation centre along the Causeway area but had to close shortly due to financial reasons. Today, the site remains existent and serves as a modern ruin in the marsh.
