things to do in juan dolio

Juan Dolio is a seaside town on the southeastern coast of the Dominican Republic. It is a pretty popular tourist destination with a rich, long history that extends pre colonial times. The native Taino people inhabited the area in the pre-Columbian era and there are still archaeological findings in town on numerous occasions. Juan Dolio was mainly a fishing and agricultural town before a hotel boom in the 1980s. Now the area is full of hotels that range from the luxurious to the affordable with the all-inclusive mindset. Despite the influx of major hotels in the area there is still quite a bit of things to do both on resorts and off them. The beaches are amazing and the weather is great too, get out there and enjoy the sunshine.

So you’ve probably never been to a cocktail bar like this before, and you’ve also probably never been to a hair salon like this before. Confused? Allow me to explain. Aguamarina Lounge is a part cocktail bar and part hair salon. The small outdoor bar is located near a lively corner of town where you can people-watch, grab a delicious rum-based cocktail, and get your hair done. It is a lounge after all, so at night and weekends expect a club-like atmosphere with DJs and music and lots of dancing.

A nice spot to check out with friends or family. Dominican Republic gets pretty hot; maybe you’re tired of the beach and want some other type of refreshing fun. Why not check out Los Delfines Water Park? Located in Juan Dolio, the water park is not too far off from most major hotels and is only a short drive or cab ride away. It’s a nice place for families to spend a day or if you’re out with a group of friends looking for a fun day out. There’s no outside food allowed in the park and there is a markup for food bought inside, so eat before you go!

7. Chocolate Bar

Sometimes it’s not the quality of the place but how much fun you have. Chocolate Bar unfortunately doesn’t have anything to do with chocolate but it is a ton of fun. The bar is a little dive-y, but people who’ve been rave about how much fun they have. Sometimes all you need is a little booze, some great friends and a bumping track to have some fun. DJs spin all throughout the weekend and the place practically never closes.
