Centuries later, the Ottomans updated and rebuilt the fortress. Prior to the crusades, there was a settlement on this land as far back as the Iron Age (1200 BCE to 1000 BCE). Time took pieces from this historic structure, but the earthquake of 1837 tore it down to ruins.

4. Hike or take a cable car up the Manara Cliff

10. Don’t miss the Memorial for the Fallen Helicopter Disaster
