Are you in the mood for some camping? Well, Tatacoa desert is the perfect place to hang out that is far from the city’s hustle and bustle. Located in Hula, which is two hours from Neiva, this place is also known as the tropical dry forest.

You can spend your night counting the beautiful stars in the sky, which is a rare experience. You can also visit the Red Zone or Zone Cuzco, and take a tour through the valley of ghosts and visit the gray desert. Other activities include horse riding, riding ATVs, bike riding, and walking. There are hotels available that run on natural energy so this is a place you really need to visit!

This place is ideal for families as you can spend the night here with so many fun activities to do! This place is worth the hype. It features water parks with amazingly designed warm and cool pools for you to swim through!

The natural hot springs also have a spa that can be visited to rejuvenate your mind and body. Other activities include horseback riding and hiking. You can also visit the on-site restaurant that serves amazing food along, and there are plenty of hotels to stay with exceptionally reasonable prices!

This is a beautiful park with a mesmerizing sunset point that you can enjoy while sitting on the benches beneath the mature trees that cover you from the heat! Here you can also witness the stunning screeching of parrots that come here for their nightly rest. The best part about this place is the local life and the natural juice served around the corner.

4. Monumento La Gaitana

This is a beautiful monument that is ideal for a sightseeing day trip! Here, you can witness the Monumento La Gaitana located on the esplanade toward the finish of the Malecon in Neiva. This statue is sculpted to pay tribute to a lady named “La Gaitana” the chieftain, who confronted Spanish control after they murdered her child, driving the conquistador Pedro Anasco to death after the resistance of more than 6,000 individuals of indigenous groups. This statue speaks a lot about its history and it is admirable!

It is made in Mudejar style, and it has eye-catching horseshoe arches and luxuriously decorated capitals. It has a dome, a rectangular patio and stained glass windows that decompose the light in chromatic tones. Altogether, this is a beautiful place that you should visit!
