Located in western Ratchaburi, in western Thailand, Suan Phueng houses many different themed resorts that are almost always fully booked in peak seasons, as it is a popular destination for domestic Thai travellers. In the winter, visitors to Suan Phueng can expect cool weather, which is a respite from the usual Southeast Asian heat.

A trip to Suan Phueng in peak periods, such as winter, might require careful and early planning. However, Suan Phueng is close enough to Bangkok for you to take a day or weekend trip. These attractions will definitely make your two-hour journey from Bangkok to Suan Phueng worth it.

1. Scenery Vintage Farm


Scenery Vintage Farm is a sheep farm and theme park modelled after the English countryside. The buildings and exhibits are all modelled after vintage pieces and buildings so you will definitely feel the vintage vibes. This place is perfect for families, as there are a range of activities to do, such as feeding the sheep, photography with numerous props and watching the dog show.

The farm also has restaurants, so you don’t need to worry about spending the day there. They also have little stalls for snacks. The locals recommend the soft serve ice-cream!

2. Bann Hom Tien



Bann Hom Tien is a candle shop that offers a spectacular mountain view. Visitors can make their own candles and shop for other candles and wax art pieces in this quaint place and bring them home as souvenirs. You can also choose to grab some cakes and tea, while enjoying the mountain view, after making your candles. It is said that the sunset view, in particular, is stunning.

Getting to Bann Hom Tien and back might be difficult as there is not much traffic in the area. You might wish to drive instead of opting for a taxi.

3. Suan Peung Resort


Suan Peung Resort is a Flintstones themed resort. Villas are shaped after different characters and will definitely bring you back to the good old Flintstones episodes. Although it is a resort, it opens daily to visitors, from noon to 2 pm, for you to take pictures, so it’s not necessary to stay in the villas to catch a glimpse of your favourite character!

4. New Land Suan Phueng


Another small theme park, New Land has many activities for the whole family. Kids can enjoy activities such as fish feeding and miniature train rides. Visitors can also try out their hand at archery, air rifle and pistol shooting. There are also ATV rides for the avid biker. If you are in need of a break from outdoor activities, New Land also has some small cafes, including a place to get your traditional Thai tea fix.
