2. Annual East Northport Festival
Fall in East Northport means the annual East Northport Festival has arrived. This particular festival offers even more amenities than your typical fest. In addition to your usual attractions like rides and games, the East Northport Festival also has magic shows, sidewalk sales, a petting zoo, bicycle stunt shows and much more. Nothing can top the feeling of walking around the carnival and smelling the freshly baked treats, hearing the laughing children, playing games and seeing the lights glowing in the night. And if the atmosphere gets to be too much, then you can relax in the beer tent and watch the game on one of the many TVs. With free admission, this is bound to be a great day for everybody.

3. Daydream Crafts
Daydream Crafts will indeed feel like a dream for lovers of quilting and sewing. This store is vintage Americana in contemporary textile art. Every item is hand-quilted to create a one-of-a-kind piece. Items available include small decorative quilts, large bed or lap quilts, pillows, reproduced vintage postcards, posters, totes, gift bags and even advertising on fabrics for your business. Many of the items incorporate recycled or reclaimed quilts that help show the age and give each item more personality. Items may not match perfectly, have different colored seams, faded colors, frayed edges, or even stains, but that’s exactly what makes each item unique. Whether is July or February, nothing beats curling up on the sofa with a good book and your new handmade quilt.

4. Veterans Park

Perhaps everyone’s favorite park in East Northport is Veterans Park. Mr. P’s Playground (named in honor of Northport teacher Chris Pondergast) is a state of the art play area for children to get their daily exercise. There is also a large skate park for roller blading, biking and skateboarding, where kids and young adults can get their own exercise and stay out of trouble. Veterans Park is also a great place to play a wide array of sports with friends as it contains two turf fields, two basketball courts, two handball courts, two volleyball courts and a soccer/football field. Also, if you’re looking for something more relaxing, the park contains picnic areas and even hiking trails, which would be great for a romantic outing with that special someone or for a company or family picnic. As long as the sun is shining, you’ll never be bored at Veterans Park.

Guy Turchiano is a very talented photographer who specializes in the New York/Long Island area. He also takes nature photographs such as waterfalls, countryside creeks and oceans. Guy was inspired to pursue his love of photography after buying a large screen HD television for his parents as a gift and seeing the beautiful pictures on screen and wanting to recreate it himself. It started as just a hobby but then blossomed into calendars for co-workers, large prints for family members and grew into his own showroom. If you visit his showroom at Guy Turchiano Studios, you can find his work for sale and buy a piece to display at home or at the office.
