Brecon, also called Brecknock, is a cathedral town located in Powys county which is the most historic county of Brecknockshire, Southern Wales. It lies on the River Usk where it is joined by the Rivers Honddu and Tarell, in the northern portion of Brecon Beacons National Park. The town’s name comes from an old Welsh name of the kingdom - Brycheiniog, in whose territory Brecon stands. The kingdom took its name from Prince Brychan who founded it. He remains a colorful character in local folklore and is still praised as a legend. You’ll find a variety of accommodations in the town, ranging from idyllic cottages, top log cabins, and cozy apartments. Here’s our pick of the top Airbnb vacation rentals in Brecon, Wales.

We handpicked these listings carefully, considering (wherever possible) Superhost status, recent guest reviews, location, accommodation type, prices, availability of dates, decor, and amenities.
