A lovely village on the banks of the estuary of the La Rance River, Saint-Suliac has often been classified as one of the most beautiful villages in France. Known for its unique granite houses on the water’s edge, this charming fishing port is filled with picturesque gardens and littered with sea-related ornaments, from ropes, nets and small boats to nautical colours.

One of the historical sites not to be missed when in Saint-Suliac is definitely the Rance Estuary Barrage, an impressive sight that is nearly 0.8 km (0.5 mi) long. Or, visit the old and rustic town of Saint-Malo, which is known for its magnificent beaches – imagine emerald green waves crashing rhythmically onto the golden sand - what a sight, indeed! Make your trip complete by staying at some of our best Airbnb vacation rentals, here in Saint-Suliac, France!

Upcoming events in and around Saint-Suliac

  • Feux de la Saint Jean - The beloved Fire of Saint John summer solstice festival is celebrated all over France, but the people of Saint-Suliac also give it their own twist. Their procession involves plenty of singing and dancing along the Rance, culminating in the lighting of the special bonfire. The festival is held every year on the 24th of June, but event dates may change depending on locality so keep an eye out for updates.
  • La Foire a Tout - Think of La Foire A Tout as one big garage sale, where the citizens of Saint-Suliac fill the streets and banks of the Rance with stalls of items looking for a new home. While no date has been set for this year, expect some updates soon.
  • Saint-Suliac Entre Terre et Mer - Hearkening back to old traditions, Saint-Suliac Entre Terre et Mer seeks to instil a sense of pride and heritage to the people of Saint-Suliac and show visitors their agricultural and maritime history. Take part in festivities which include traditional games, live music with singing and dancing, and plenty of delicious food. As no date has been announced yet, keep an eye out for new info.

We handpicked these listings carefully, considering (wherever possible) Superhost status, recent guest reviews, location, accommodation type, prices, availability of dates, decor, and amenities. 1. Charming and historic fisherman's house (from USD 116)

This enchanting stonework cottage can accommodate a family or a group of friends out to enjoy France’s northern coast and countryside. Though originally built back in the 17th century, this home has retained much of its classic features such as its stonework walls and fences. The view of the Rance River can be enjoyed from the upper floor, and the deck patio provides a lovely place for outdoor dining.

Many of Saint-Suliac’s charming spots are within walking distance; the beach, for example, is about only 100 meters (328.08 feet) away. There are plenty of trails for walking, cycling, and hiking, so don’t forget to pack some boots for an outdoor picnic if that’s your thing.

When you’re not out adventuring, you can take it easy and relax indoors, warmed by centralized heating. Catch a sports game on the 40-inch HDTV, or whip up a meal in the well-equipped kitchen. Families travelling with infants or toddlers will be glad to know the rental comes with a crib and other baby amenities. Being a bookworm, I love the fact that the owner also provides reading materials, so be sure to read your favourite from the collection.

2. Traditional home in the village center (from USD 91)

Live like a local by booking this gorgeous stonework house situated at the heart of Saint-Suliac. Take a walk down the streets to browse nearby shops or take a stroll on the beach and docks. Grab some groceries and make use of the home’s nicely equipped kitchen to prepare your meals. The house has its own laundry area with a washer and dryer, so there’s no need to look for a laundromat.

I would highly recommend this place if you like to venture out and explore the world like me for this property is just 10 minutes away from Saint-Malo and 40 minutes away from Mont Saint-Michel.

As it can get cold in this part of France, the home has radiant heating available, as well as a wood-burning stove fireplace you can use for warmth. The property is also a pet-friendly home, so bring along your fur babies if you’d like them to enjoy a holiday in the French countryside.
