Surrounded by the Western Ghats and on the banks of the Godavari River, Nashik is a popular weekend getaway. A trip to Nashik can include visits to riverside temples such as Shree Navshya Ganpati Temple and Shree Someshwar Temple. And, in my opinion, a visit here is incomplete without exploring the many vineyards in and around the city, such as Sula Vineyards and Chandon India Winery. With all this sightseeing, you are bound to get hungry. And when in Nashik, one cannot skip sampling misal, a delicious curry made with sprouted beans, topped with onions, and served with an Indian bread roll. It is believed that this popular breakfast dish originated in the city and there is no shortage of variations. Misal places are packed over the weekend, so, remember to get there early and ready to eat.
If you’re here for a meal worth remembering, I have plenty of recommendations. To find out more, continue scrolling for the top places for misal in Nashik.

Must visit in this rainy season..... And give us a chance to serve tasty misal ever... :)

Before moving to Nashik, I had never tasted or even heard of misal. This restaurant was my introduction to the popular breakfast item, and it continues to remain my favorite place when I am craving misal. Since my first visit, the restaurant has expanded and opened several more branches that are more family-friendly. The original Satpur branch is quite basic, and you will mostly find college mates or people employed in the area stopping by.
Over the years, due to the many large-scale misal restaurants opening up, we have stopped visiting this place in person. But once in a couple of months, we still end up ordering from Shamsundar through one of the food delivery apps. This is, without a doubt, the place I would recommend for the best-tasting misal in Nashik.

I think this was one of the first places in Nashik that truly turned misal into an experience. The first time I visited Sadhana was a few months after this new location opened up, and I was surprised by the sheer size of it. Instead of an enclosed restaurant, Sadhana is set up on a large plot surrounded by working farms on all sides. It has been designed to replicate a village with a thatched roof dining areas and traditional Warli art decorating the mud walls. There is a large open ground where you can ride a bullock cart or opt for a camel ride. Another section is a mini petting zoo of sorts, where kids can interact with rabbits.
What sets this place apart from the rest is that instead of cooking over a traditional gas stove, the dish is prepared on a wood-burning stove, which helps add a smokiness to the flavor. This is one of our top choices if we wish to go out for misal as a family.
While the setting is massive, once you get a table, service is exceptionally fast. In addition to misal, they also serve a few other vegetarian dishes. Sadhana Chulivarchi Misal is always one of the must-visit places I recommend to out-of-town friends.

3. Grape Embassy
I love this place, not just for its misal but for the entire experience that they have managed to create around a simple breakfast dish. Nashik is famous for its grapes, and this unique restaurant has set its tables under grape vines. If you arrive before the crowd you might even be able to grab one of the fun swing tables near the entrance.
I think Grape Embassy might serve food other than misal, but in all my visits to the place, I have never once seen another dish on the tables. To counter the spicy zing of the misal, make sure to order jalebis (a fried Indian dessert that is soaked in sugar syrup) and cold buttermilk.
If you are traveling to Nashik with kids, this place should be visited. There is a trampoline, a VR station, a petting zoo, swings, a fish pedicure, and even a mini train ride. I really recommend visiting before noon if you do not want a long waiting time. There have been instances when we have had to return because parking was packed and cars were lining up outside on the road.

4. Hotel Shree Krishna Vijay
If you can handle the spice, then you should definitely add this misal place to your itinerary. In addition to regular spices, this place generously uses green chilies to up the spice factor of the dish. Although Hotel Shree Krishna Vijay is extremely close to my house, I have never had a chance to eat there in person because it is always packed. The venue is clean but quite simple with both indoor and outdoor seating and does not have air conditioning.
I have now given up ever trying to find a place to sit and simply order from them via food delivery apps or opt for a pick-up instead. In addition to misal, Hotel Shree Krishna Vijay also serves delicious South Indian dishes.

5. Tushar Misal
This is our go-to place for breakfast after an early morning trek. I was last here over the summer after a visit to Pandavleni Caves with friends. As far as I remember, it was also one of the few times that we did not have to wait for a table. Tushar Misal is one of the most popular places for misal in Nashik, and often times over the weekend, they run out of the dish by around 1pm.
The venue also serves fried snacks and several other breakfast items, but misal remains its most popular. The service, as with all misal joints in Nashik, is extremely fast. You will have a plate of piping hot misal in front of you in less than two minutes.
