Honduras meaning “depths” in Spanish, is a Central American country blessed with the Caribbean Sea coastal lines to the north and the Pacific Ocean resting in the south. The country got its independence from Spain in 1821 and became one of the provinces of Central America. Honduran cuisine is a blend of indigenous cuisines like Lenca cuisine, Garifuna cuisine, and Maya cuisine. Other dishes include chicken with corn and rice, roast meat with carne asada and chismol, and to top it all, coconut milk and coconut are featured in both savory and sweet dishes. This is the type of soup that leaves you licking your lips and bowl and making you ask for more, and once you start eating, you will not want to stop. It is basically a regular caked baked using eggs, milk and other ingredients depending on how you love your cake and a cherry at the top.
