Sacramento City is known as America’s “Farm-To-Fork Capital” because of the fact that most of its restaurants source their food locally from its surrounding farms. With the abundance of farms in close proximity to the city, Sacramento easily offers various vegetarian options for all vegetable lovers. From Vegan Scramble Avocado Toast for breakfast, Tofu and Potato Hash for lunch to Acai bowls during tea breaks and vegan chocolate chip cookies for dessert, who says going vegan is not quite exciting for the food enthusiasts? These restaurants have carefully sourced their ingredients locally which are gluten-free, organic and GMO-free to advocate their causes of abstaining from animal cruelty, respect for living things or for other ethical or personal reasons. Here’s a list of healthy and hearty meals for you to choose from to satisfy your appetite. So, let’s start with the vegetarian restaurants in Sacramento, California.

Contrary to its laid-back atmosphere, there is lots of action in the kitchen since the restaurant’s head chef was awarded the ‘Restaurant of the Month’ by the 'Sacramento Vegan Chef Challenge’ last year. Nonetheless, local customers love it here because Veg Café is driven by kindness and compassion that anchors their vision to respect the environment which was created for the mind, body, and spirit. They always stay true to their mission of serving hearty meals that even if the meat is taken out, there is still flavor.
