The Kanana Durga temple is famous because of the Legend of Panakala Narasimha Swamy. When you visit the temple, you will see devotees taking 'Theertham' which is offered to the idol of the Lord. It is said that once Swamy is satisfied with a certain amount of Theertham (from each devotee), he'll signal so, and the Pandit will hear a 'clicking sound.' That is when they stop offering the Theertham and provide the remaining to the devotees, who believe that consuming the same will drive away bad troubles. Do visit the temple and take the blessings of the Lord; I personally love the sweet and peppery flavours of the Theertham.
