Located in Mondesa, Hafeni Traditional Restaurant is one of the few places in Swakopmund where you can have local food. This is a basic restaurant with a very simple design but good food. The staff is very friendly and helpful. If you don’t know what to order, they will have good recommendations for you. Since Hafeni Traditional Restaurant is part of a tourism agency that offers tours of Mondesa, the restaurant will be the lunch stop for the tourists joining the tour. But there are also locals who come eat here.

2. Namib Restaurant

If you feel like having German food, this is the place to go. Namib Restaurant is part of Hotel Deutsches Haus. The atmosphere is relaxing and the service very efficient and fast. At lunch time, they serve different special menus every day. It’s for sure worth it to try out the lunch specials.

Village Cafe gives the restaurant scene of Swakopmund some color with its artsy decor and general atmosphere. The friendliness of the staff adds to the nice vibe. It’s a place where laughter and good humor are highly appreciated. You can tell that just by glancing at the menu. The portions are big and the food and coffee are excellent. Village Cafe is a place that exudes an air of creativity all around it. Even if just for a drink, it’s worth going because of its unique atmosphere.

This is the perfect option if you want to take a break from the beach, but don’t want to go too far. Brewer & Butcher is part of Strand Hotel. Although there are also some vegetarian options on the menu, Brewer & Butcher is particularly good for meat lovers. The service is wonderful and the staff amazing.

Do you want to organize a romantic dinner with your partner? This is the best option for you. The outside sitting area comes with a wonderful scenic view over the South Atlantic Ocean. In terms of food, The Tug is famous mostly for its selection of seafood. However, do try to book a table in advance, as it can get rather crowded. And keep in mind that during the week, this restaurant is opened only during dinner time (5 p.m. to 10 p.m.).
