While some yurts are commonly found in Mongolia and Kyrgyzstan, travellers may still try it around Glacier National Park. Nestled in the Rockies’ of Montana, tourists who wish to hike through the mountains visit the place as it is one of the desirable activities of the park. If you have a permit, you can even camp on the campsites along the trails! However, I propose trying out the yurts in the area. These yurts are far more modern in style and much more convenient- some with electricity or air-conditioning, as opposed to the traditional yurts used by the nomads in Central Asia. While staying in yurts may be unconventional, its uniqueness is what makes it truly enjoyable and livable. Everything you need to know about living in one may be on the list below. So take the chance and check out the best yurts in and near the Glacier National Park, USA!
First on our list is this two-bedroom yurt in complete isolation on the northern end of Flathead Lake. Guests may indulge in the beautiful, outstanding 360-degree views of Flathead Lake, Glacier Park and Whitefish Mountain to the north, the Swan Mountains to the east, and the Blacktail Mountain. But that doesn’t end there! During the day, clear blue skies are set to greet you warmly and for the finale, the gleaming stars of Montana at night. As it is in the secluded area, guests will need to bring a car which they can freely park on site. There’s also an ample living-dining space, and a kitchen well equipped for all the guests’ needs. The yurt is air-conditioned and features a heating facility at the same time, so guests need not worry whatever season they’ll be visiting. Also, if you happen to share this wonderful trip with a baby, you may ask for a crib which also makes it kid-friendly.

If the first one is in a remote with open field space, this time, let’s check out the yurt that can be found in the woods on a mountainside. Surrounded by trees and lush vegetation, this solar-powered yurt is the perfect spot to enjoy activities like hiking and horseback riding. Tourists may find various trails for bikes to see more of the beauty the neighbourhood has to offer. It is only 5 miles (8 km) downtown Whitefish and will only take 45 minutes to drive to the Glacier National Park. The kitchen features basic cooking necessities and appliances such as a stove, a refrigerator, and a coffeemaker. Guests may also hang out in the backyard where a BBQ grill is available for use. Unfortunately, travellers may only experience this yurt on the latter part of May until end of September each year. So you better plan your visit during these months!

What’s a better way to completely enjoy and relax? Stay in a place where there’s no Wi-Fi and completely disconnect yourself from the stress of the hurly-burly city! This yurt is a traditional Mongolian Ger where there’s no electricity and running water. However, the clean drinking water in a container will be handy at the property. Just like some of the yurts you’ll find in town, this private accommodation is only available during the months of June through mid-September. But trust me, these are the best months to enjoy this place! Please do also take note that as it is nestled in the woods, there would be no public transportation present during your visit. I suggest bringing a four-wheel drive to go in and out of the property conveniently!

Here’s yet another treat for solo travellers or couples who wish take advantage of staying in a lovely and cozy yurt. It is conveniently in about 7 miles (11 km) from the Glacier National Park, so it’s easier to visit! Travellers may access common areas like the bathroom and the kitchen. There you’ll see a small refrigerator, a propane stove, a toaster oven, and some of the primary cooking utensils for convenience. This yurt is also dog-friendly so guests may tag his or her best buddy along during the trip. They are very much welcome just like the adults staying in the yurt. Although dogs are not allowed in the Glacier National Park, there’s a dog kennel available on site for your Fido to rest safe and sound while you are away!

For only about 7 miles (11 km), tourists may reach the West Glacier entrance quickly in Glacier National Park from this property. Nestled in the serene woods of Coram, the yurt is earth-friendly and will give its guests all the conveniences and comfort even though it is hidden in the woodlands. The yurt functions like a house where a sitting area, a dining space, and a bathroom is available. It has an attached bathroom complete with shower, toilet, washer, and a dryer. The kitchen comes with a stove, a refrigerator, and a sink for your use during your stay.

Top guest reviewsthe king bed was insanely comfortable, the bathroom was such a pleasant surprise (it literally had everything), and the kitchen with full size fridge/ freezer and oven were well utilized (not to me...you get the feeling of camping with all of the natural light and window/ dome in the ceiling, but with all of the amenities you would get in a hotelit's an easy 15 minute drive into the park (and by a coffee hut that's open 7 days a week at 6am, although vern had a keruig!) and way more bang for your buck with all of the amenities, privacy, an...it was also a nice touch to provide a bottle of bear spray for our excursions into glacier-- we thankfully didn't need it, but appreciated that a bottle was left on the table for us (and future) gu...super energy and sensibility of the yurt in the woods
Host:the live edge wood slabs are a great design elementthe place is absolutely immaculate and vern has taken so much time and thought to make this experience special for every guestthe location worked very well for us, the yurt was clean & well appointedRead more reviewsi just want to clarify by saying that the trains are located across the river a few miles away and that the subtle noise occasionally echoes through the valleythe craftsmanship is awesome and in a nice spot nestled just outside of west glacier in a wooded areait's a little loud at night with the train nearby but the woodland sounds are also nice to listen tooutstanding locationit by no means kept me from sleeping
This yurt has recently opened its doors to travellers on July 1, 2018. As it is new, guests will instantly feel fresh, cozy, and may take advantage of using spick and span amenities and equipment. Example of these is the kitchen, the bathroom, the bedroom, and the living area. Again, there would be no public transportation available in the area, so it’s better to bring a car or rent one before your stay. There’s a gas station accessible nearby and a spacious parking space for the guests. You’ll find two local restaurants not far from the property and two adventure parks namely Glacier Highline & Amazing Fun Center.

A must-try experience
Staying in yurts is something one person should experience in his or her lifetime. It may be unusual and in some cases, not luxurious, but hey, this could be your chance to savour that much-needed break and disconnect to the city for a little while.
