Cebu Island in itself is perhaps one of the regions first to appear in Philippine history: Mactan, Cebu is after all the setting of the first encounter between the Spaniards and the Filipinos in the 1500s. That’s why it’s no surprise that Cebu also plays host to the oldest church in the Philippines, the Sto. Nino Church. Located along Santo Nino Chapel Lane, this church is one of the most visited attractions in Cebu, not just for the rich history it has, but also because of the intricate detail in its architecture and because of how prominent an image the Sto. Nino is to the Cebuano people. Entrance is free too, so your family can stay here for as long as you wish!
