Starting off with a little diamond in the rough, found just 10 minutes away from Copenhagen’s central station, is the Astrid och Apornas Spiseri. This vegan restaurant is a cozy little place that will satisfy your craving for junk food, while not making you completely guilty about the indulgence. A healthier and still affordable vegan alternative to staple junk food menu items will not only please your taste buds, but also nourish your body and not make you grow a size larger. The menu includes two main junk food options - hotdogs and burgers. Although the place offers only those two options, the possibility to customize your meal will make sure to cater to even the pickiest of eaters.

Hotdogs are offered in many different “sausage” variations and have the possibility to be topped with fresh and delicious relish made in-house. Hamburgers offer the same variety for their patties as well as many toppings like fejkon (vegan bacon) and cheese, everything being 100% vegan. All vegan substitute products like cheeses and meats are provided by the neighboring country - Sweden, where the variety of their products has already won the hearts of all Swedish vegans and vegetarians and maybe a few meat-eaters as well. If you are looking for some fast food that will not ruin your budget and health, Astrid och Apornas Spiseri is definitely a place worth trying.
