Just like any other traditional Javanese house; the walls, ceilings, window panes and all furniture other than the sofa and the mattress are made out of raw wood. To make it more Javanese, they add a curtain with special flowery design called batik on its windows.
Javanese-style restaurant with diverse cuisines
If you are lazy to head out for a meal, do consider dining in the resort’s cosy restaurant, which lies in the middle of the garden. Again, the restaurant’s design is very Javanese. There is no entrance door, windows or whatsoever that will prevent the circulation of cool mountain air in the premises. For your information, Amata Borobudur Resort is located 269 meters above sea level, so the outdoor weather is pretty cool.
The restaurant’s structure may have a Javanese theme, but they serve various kinds of foods (mainly Indonesian, Chinese and Western). One of the specialty is salmon steak. Served with mashed potatoes and salad, this is a delicious and healthy choice for you.
Meals by the swimming pool
At Amata Borobudur Resort, the swimming pool area offers you something that is more than just a place for swimming. After swimming, what about having a local refreshing beverage? “Dawet” is a local drink - a concoction of jelly and jackfruit in coconut milk sweetened with brown sugar and the fragrance of pandan leaf.
