Freedom Beach Freedom Beach

Freedom Beach is a stunning spot, which is only accessible via a long-tail boat or via a steep downhill walk. We chose to walk and found two kinds of roads... one that is longer and more steep and one that's shorter but still steep. We did go for the shorter one because I wanted to beat the crowd. You have to pay 200 THB (5.58 USD) per person (& you get two bottles of water with it).

Once you are down, you can enjoy the beauty of the beach and some smoothie bars. You also have a smaller beach that's behind the rocks. I recommend this spot, it's sooo beautiful and less crowded because no one wants to walk over rocks.

There is also an iconic island visible from the beachfront and palm trees along Kata Beach, which makes it a perfect location for picnicking, sightseeing and photography. Although swimming may be unsafe during the low season, the waves experienced during this time makes it a popular destination among surfers. Further, the area adjacent to Kata Beach is filled with pocket-friendly beer bars, shops and food stalls where you can unwind with a variety of drinks and local culinary delights.
