There are a lot of great places to eat in Richmond but to actually sort them all out would take a while. That’s why there’s a list to help those traveling to the area of where to get the best lunches and dinners, without paying an arm and a leg to do so. The names of the places may not sound so appetizing, but they serve some of the best food in town and it’s a real treat to have such amazing views in these restaurants. Some are on the water and some of them have great decorations inside.

1. Pasture

Homemade pop tarts

Posted by Pasture on Monday, 6 June 2016

It may not sound so appealing, but they really do have some great food here at Pasture. The food is always fresh and the customer service is pretty great too. The inside of the restaurant is simple and clean. The food isn’t extravagant, just burgers and wraps with homemade French fries. But they make their own desserts. They even tried their hand at homemade pop tarts and it’s safe to say, no one will want the packaged ones again after trying these. Be sure to try one when visiting Pasture!

It may not sound like much but there is some great food here. Customers can get a real taste of what southern soul food is really like when they stop here at Mama J’s. They have some great meat and potato meals, crab cakes that taste a little like heaven, and the desserts are absolutely scrumptious. Everything is homemade in this joint, which makes it even more home-like when away from home. When visiting Richmond VA, be sure to stop in at Mama J’s for some good homemade cooking.

3. Rappahannock

Make your dinner reservations and try our new House Made Ravioli! Rock Shrimp Ravioli, chanterelle mushrooms, arugula, stewed fennel and tomatoes! #rvadine #rockshrimp http://ift.tt/2aOrOpk

This is a seafood bar that very few have left disappointed from. The owners of the restaurant actually own a couple of different chains around the area of Richmond, Virginia, and they have a crew that goes out to get the fresh seafood almost on a daily basis So when they say it’s fresh, they mean it. They also have craft beers, select wines, and signature cocktails to go with the fresh seafood. They do have a lot to choose from, so ask the waiter or waitress to see if they have any recommendations, that might make it easier to choose. Seafood lovers should definitely try Rappahannock’s restaurant if they are going to be in the Richmond area.

4. Stella's

Orecchiette, loukaniko, shrimp & ouzo cream. #rva #rvadine

Posted by Stella's on Friday, 4 September 2015

Stella’s is a Greek restaurant that has been around since 1956. Her husband was the one who started the business but in the early 1960s, Stella joined forces with him and has been there ever since, and yes she’s still there, but not as many hours as she used to be. The restaurant took American and Greek food and made special recipes that they still use today. There is a lot of great food in this Greek restaurant and it’s a shame if anyone leaves the building hungry.

5. Cooper's Hawk Winery and Restaurant

Blackened Ahi Tuna - Seared Rare, Crisp Wontons, Wasabi Sauce, Sriracha Aioli, Sweet Soy, Sesame, Cucumber, Pickled Ginger. The dish prepared by our I-Drive Team

While the restaurant is relatively new, that doesn’t mean it hasn’t gotten much attention, in fact, it’s quite the opposite. They have had quite the business since opening. They have their own hand crafted wine, with a modern sense of casual dining. The prices really aren’t that bad either. If travelers are in the area and feeling hungry, this is definitely a place to stop by and enjoy.

Posted by Mellow Mushroom on Tuesday, 7 February 2017

This place has quite the scenery and atmosphere. They have old records, stereo speakers, and paintings on the walls and it’s really cool to see all of them in one place. Their food type is pizza and beer on tap and they have quite the creative mind when it comes to pizza. They put things on pizza that normally people wouldn’t even consider. Their crusts are all homemade and those that visit can see they work hard to make sure all of their customers are pleased. If travelers are in the mood for pizza, this is the place to visit.

8. The Roosevelt

Posted by The Roosevelt on Thursday, 28 November 2013

The Roosevelt Restaurant has a pretty big menu that can be a little overwhelming for those that have never been there before. They have some odd sounding appetizers, large entrees, and desserts that are amazing. Now some of the food really does sound unappealing, but after asking the waiter/waitress what it is, the description sounds better than the name of the dish. The employees are super nice here, but they do get busy, so customers should try to be patient if it is a certain time of day.
