Gettysburg during the day is undeniably beautiful. But Gettysburg at night? It’s a whole new experience. The Jennie Wade Ghost Tour is a prime example of that.

The Jennie Wade House hosts a ghost tour in the area when it’s pitch black outside. Attending this ghost tour is one of the cool things to do in Gettysburg since visitors are in complete darkness the entire time. It’s not extremely terrifying but it’s not recommended for children under the teenage years as it can be a bit frightening for them.

Do you want to participate in a few Gettysburg night tours? If so, you should check out Gettysburg Ghost Tours.

This particular ghost tour in Gettysburg does a lot of stuff outside, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes and proper clothing for the weather. It can get chilly in the evening, even if it’s the middle of the summer.

This is a fun experience, but definitely not recommended for children under the age of 14. They do some pretty scary stuff in the fields that wouldn’t make good memories for them. That said, it’s fun to scare the adults in the group!

3. Enjoy a themed night at Reliance Mine Saloon

Fire is roaring! $2.00 Yuengling Bottles All Night Tonight!

Posted by The Reliance Mine Saloon on Saturday, November 1, 2014

This is a bar that gets pretty hoppin’ at night, but it’s not just any old bar. They do a lot of different historical themed events for customers and if customers have questions about the battlefields or other areas of Gettysburg, they are more than happy to answer them. While the bar is not set up like an actual saloon, there is the cool painting on the back wall of an old town during the Civil War ages. The beer is good, the company is great, and this is a bar that shouldn’t be left out.

4. Try the drinks and grub at Garryowen Irish Pub

This pub not only has good food, they have a really nice atmosphere. The drinkers here don’t seem to get drunk while there are other people in the pub. And the workers there are super friendly. The lighting is pretty dim when walking into the bar but as the customer’s eyes adjust, they can see that the tables, chairs and bar counter are made all out of wood. It looks pretty cool and definitely the bar to try out if someone needs a drink.

For more fun things to do, take this great ghost tour in Gettysburg. Some of the workers have been here for over 50 years, so they’ve got some great stories to tell to those that visit. The storytellers also have some great old-time costumes and speak in slight accents, like they would have so long ago.

7. Head to Blue and Gray Bar and Grill

The Blue and Gray Bar and Grill has some good food and a nice atmosphere, although if going on a weekend, keep in mind that most bars do tend to get a little rowdy now and then.

Their food is like a regular diner with a twist. They’ve got some great sandwiches and french fries with a good amount of alcohol to choose from for those who wish to have a drink. But the sandwiches are huge. There are several layers to some of the sandwiches they sell, making them much bigger than what most customers can get their mouths around. And if customers can finish their meal, they have some great desserts for the sweet-toothed visitors.

Not too pricey for those that need a drink, Mason Dixon Distillery has a good way of making their customers feel welcome. Their drinks list is a long one but don’t feel the need to try them all in one night.

Another great place to visit in the evening is the Dobbin House Tavern. The workers are very welcoming and friendly to everyone. They have a little gift shop in the building for those that like to shop and take home some memories. Their food is so good and leaves customers very satisfied, although a little too full.
