Kandura Abaya

Did you know that the abaya and kandura are traditional Emirati clothing worn by locals? A kandura is a long white cloak worn by males, typically accompanied by a guthra (a headscarf) and agal (a black rope to hold the scarf in place). It can cost anywhere between $25 and $100. Usually, kanduras should be changed at least twice daily.

On the other hand, females wear abayas, long flowing black gowns. They are usually worn with a shela to cover the head, a burqa to cover the face, and a gishwa to cover the mouth. Abayas can range anywhere from $25 to $1,000. You can purchase these at WAFI Mall.
