Anna Maria is a city in Manatee County, Florida, United States. Forty miles (64 kilometers) south of Tampa and just seven miles (11 km) west of Bradenton, Anna Maria is a paradise island. The seven-mile-long (11 km) tropical island is a gem, with beautiful white-sand beaches on all sides and a year-round population of just 1,800. The island was originally discovered by the Timucan and Caloosan Native Americans and then by Spanish explorers.
If you’re planning a trip to this beautiful haven, here are the best things to see and do here in Anna Maria Island:
1. Parasailing in Florida
You only live once, as the saying goes. Why not let your inner child come out and play? Be sure to soak up spectacular views of Anna Maria Island and the Gulf Coast from a parasail as you soar to new heights. 8. Sunset at Fort Lauderdale Beach
I hate to state the obvious here, but it is a must to experience the sunset before leaving Anna Maria. Grab your own beach chairs and a plastic tumbler of something fruity and head over to the beach to enjoy the peaceful drop of the sun into the Gulf. If you are looking for a more dramatic sunset, check out the beachfront restaurants like The Beach House, Sand Bar or Gulf Drive Café. Fort Lauderdale Beach is the most loved beach here. Enjoy a cold drink, excited chatter and even a round of applause when the sun makes its final destination.

9. Bean Point Beach
Bean Point, Anna Maria Island Fl.

I’m letting you in on a secret location that very few locals have even visited! Bean Point is on the northernmost point of Anna Maria Island. Breathtaking beauty and one of the purest beaches you will ever see in your life await you here. White sand, blue water, and out in the distance you get a beautiful view of the Sunshine Skyway Bridge. It is relatively secluded due to the fact that it isn’t exactly easy to find or get to. If possible, take a walk here or ride a bike.

10. Get a Tiki-tastic Massage right on the beach
