2. Summer Wine Walk

The Antioch Summer Wine Walk takes place on the first Saturday of June each year. The wine is sampled from many renowned professionals in the wine industry. The 2017 Wine Walk featured samplings from Midwest Wine Selections. The event also includes appetizers which were professionally paired, so don’t fret about going hungry! This neat, local event is a filling event guaranteed to be fun!

3. Palette, Masque, & Lyre Community Theatre

The Palette, Masque, & Lyre Theatre, also known as the PM&L Theatre, is a historic landmark in Antioch. The theatre also hosts a plethora of plays inspired by literature such as To Kill a Mockingbird, Young Frankenstein, and Fiddler on the Roof, as well as mainstream adaptations such as Shrek, The Musical. 7. Vigneto del Bino Vineyard & Winery

Vigneto del Bino Winery was established by the Trombino family of Antioch, in 2012. The vineyard was established in 2009, from which eight wine varieties are made. Three of its wine varieties come from California grapes. The boutique is positioned exquisitely between two vineyards giving it a flare of country charm. Not only is this a family-owned treasure, but also a great opportunity to snap gorgeous photos of the seemingly endless vineyards! Check it out!

8. Raven Glen Forest Preserve

Antioch also has a more mysterious side to it, concealing picturesque beauty. The Raven Glen Forest Preserve is one of the best ways to get back in touch with the outdoors. The preserve has a 2.1-mile (3.3 km) long gravel trail which is perfect for biking, hiking, and cross-country skiing in the winter months. There is also a grass path for those who’d rather hit the trails on horseback, and an even shorter path exclusively for hiking. Raven Glen also has a lake known as Timber Lake, which has two fishing piers. There are so many activities to do in a largely untouched nature preserve, don’t miss out on an uncommon experience!

At first glance, Antioch may seem like a regular small town, however, this is a misconception that must be corrected! Antioch is a little haven nearby the big city of Chicago, but the large metropolis doesn’t even come close to upstaging this tiny city.
