This is an old fashioned pub in Downtown Antwerp, with a long-established history. It’s been in business since 1924, and little seems to have changed inside since then. This is the ideal place to go if you want to taste authentic Belgian beer without paying a hefty tourist price. It tends to attract a lot of locals and expats, who are a pretty friendly crowd, so it’s a nice place to go and strike up a conversation with a stranger.

2. Enjoy some Jazz at Cafe Hopper

A cafe during the day, but a live music venue in the evenings, Cafe Hopper definitely promises to be an interesting night. This jazz venue is quite popular with locals, particularly on Sunday evenings when they host live performances. Dip your toe into some culture, and you’ll be welcomed with open arms. If you are a fan of classical music, Antwerp is a great city to visit. If it is culture you are looking for, definitely head to a classical music concert at the Filharmonie. 4. Chill out at Jazzcafe De Muze

Most concerts typically start from 10pm and can get very crowded, as it’s one of the most popular jazz venues in the city, so try to head there early. This cafe/bar has a vintage vibe, decorated with second-hand furniture, adding to the overall cosy ambience. If you are looking for an atmospheric bar to enjoy some delicious beer in, then this is the place for you, and it’s no wonder that it attracts a lot of locals. This final option on our list is a laidback cocktail bar. This trendy establishment is close to many main attractions in Antwerp, yet despite that, it is reasonably priced and has piles of character inside.
