Friendswood was first settled by the Quakers, in 1895, to establish a farming community known as Quakers of Friends, along the gulf coast. This was a part of the Westwood movement in the late 1800s. By the 1920s, figs were a popular crop here and led to an influx of farms to the town. The 1930s brought settlers displaced by the depression and oil fields on the outskirts of town, created jobs.
This town has a strong tradition of volunteerism and a wide variety of residents. Come and explore Friendswood, Texas, and use this list of the top things to do, to guarantee an exciting trip!
