Known for golf and sweet tea, North Augusta is located in the USA, in the state of South Carolina, and borders the beautiful Savannah River. 1. Unwind at Brick Pond Park


Stressed out by work lately? Brick Pond Park offers an escape from your busy life with its scenic view, making it great for outings with friends or simply relaxing on your own. A restored wetland that occupies 40 acres (16.18 hectares), it used to be an industrial site in the late 19th century but is now a nature park surrounded by lush greenery that appeals to both residents and tourists. You can hike or even cycle on numerous trails winding through the area. Nature enthusiasts will rejoice, as plenty of wildlife has been spotted here, so bring your camera along. Herons, owls, and deer are some of the creatures you will see at this well-maintained park, but take note that feeding the animals is not allowed. You can fish if you have a permit - just be careful of the alligators lurking in the water. Brick Pond Park connects to the Greeneway Trail.

2. Explore Greeneway Trail

Named after Mayor Thomas W. Greene (1985 - 1997), North Augusta Greeneway Trail is 7 miles (11 km) long and follows an abandoned railroad, with further plans for extension. A gem hidden in the heartlands of North Augusta, the paved recreational trail offers bikers and hikers the opportunity to explore the natural terrain and the Savannah riverfront. Keep your pets on a leash and be on the lookout for wildlife such as turtles, birds, and raccoons. The trail is smooth and mostly flat, and it is also easily accessible from multiple entry points and parking areas. If you go during the right season, you may even see the flowers bloom!

3. Experience the civil war period at Living History Park

A popular avenue for picnics and events, Living History Park was designed to let the community learn about 18th-century history. An abandoned waterworks 25 years ago, the 7.5-acre (3.03-hectare) park has been transformed into a living museum dating back to 1716 and the Revolutionary War period, with various exhibits that are sure to make you want to go back and experience more.

Augusta Riverwalk is a multilevel brick path that runs parallel along the Savannah River, and it features two museums and a few gardens. One can also stop and admire the beautiful mansions opposite the Savannah River on the North Augusta side - a wonderful sight to behold.
