Founded by Joseph Lizzadro, the museum started as his simple collection. Joseph Lizzadro had taken an interest in lapidary arts and gained a love of cutting and burnishing stones, such as jade. Like many ambitious and successful people, his dream didn’t end there; Lizzadro wanted to display and show the world how beautiful and unique the mineral world can be. Eventually, he added other carvings and his dream was out in the open in the form of more than 200 pieces of carvings made from various rocks, mineral collections, and gemstones. Alongside the collection, the museum also offers an interactive Rock and Mineral exhibit that is tailored for all ages.
