1. Play a round at Woodfin Ridge Golf Club

At Woodfin Ridge Golf Club, you’ll be able to enjoy a scenic view of Lake Bower and the Blue Ridge Mountains while you play. The course winds through creeks and streams and offers a serene view of Inman. The club charges 38 USD for weekday 18-hole games and 48 USD for weekend 18-hole games. For nine-hole games, the cost is 22 USD for weekdays and 27 USD for weekends, so you’ll be able to save some money if you drop by during the week.

Even if you’re not a golfer, come check out Zane’s, the full service bar and grill. You’ll be able to enjoy the view of the Blue Ridge Mountains while you eat dinner or have drinks. Locals love the unique craft beers, the friendly and knowledgeable staff, and the prices; all pints are only 5 USD! RJ Rockers Brewing Company goes for a friendly, quirky vibe, and visitors have said that you can expect to see all different types of people here, as it caters to a variety of beer-lovers.

Not only does the brewery offer unique microbrews, but it also offers tastings and live entertainment. Munch on appetizers while you try beer flights or discover a new local musician while you enjoy a brew. Try an oatmeal IPA, the Light Rock, or the Strawberry Bomber. 3. Take a ride at Scotsgrove Stables

Located within Inman, Scotsgrove Stables offers the opportunity to pursue riding lessons or just take a trail ride. Established in 1992, Scotsgrove Stables owns nearly 400 acres (162 hectares) on which their seventeen horses roam. There are a variety of trails, ponds, and cross country jumps on the property– it’s a beautiful and serene landscape.

On a trail ride, you’ll likely see deer, wild turkeys, and foxes, and you’ll notice that the horses don’t seem to be bothered by the wildlife at all. Hour-long lessons cost 35 USD per hour, and prices for trail rides may vary depending on the season and length of the ride, so call ahead before you plan your visit.

4. Visit Cowpens National Battlefield Park

Cowpens National Battlefield Park is located east of Chesnee, and is a thirty-minute drive from Inman. This state park commemorates a Revolutionary War battle site, where Daniel Morgan and his army used the double envelopment to defeat Banastre Tarleton’s British army.

Although you’ll be able to explore the battlefield and state park on your own, the park also offers special events three times a year: an anniversary event in January, a 4th of July celebration, and a Revolutionary War event in October featuring reenactments and “living history” exhibits.

5. Try rock climbing at Climb Upstate

Climb Upstate is an indoor rock-climbing gym located twenty minutes away from Inman in Spartanburg. Open from 4 pm to 9 pm Monday-Friday and 9 am - 6 pm on Saturday, you don’t need experience or a reservation to climb at Climb Upstate! The gym has over a dozen top-roping stations, a bouldering station, and hundreds of routes ranked from absolute beginner levels to advanced climbers. The staff is very helpful and can offer route suggestions, strategies and tips.

Purchase a day climb pass or check out the group rates! Day passes are 14 USD per adult and 12 USD per child. You’ll also need to rent climbing shoes at 3 USD per person and can optionally choose to buy climbing chalk at 3 USD per bag.

6. Browse the BMW Zentrum Museum

Located just outside of Spartanburg, BMW Zentrum is a specialty museum featuring iconic BMW cars and a behind-the-scenes look into the plant that produces them. It takes about an hour to look at all the cars featured and learn a little about each one. The museum is open Monday – Friday from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm.

Over the year 2016, the BMW Zentrum museum was redesigned and reopened to the public with new and improved exhibits. The museum is free of charge to visitors, and you’ll be able to browse the gift shop afterwards for souvenirs of your visit.
