2. Ellicott Creek Island Park

This is a beautiful park to enjoy a nice sunny day in. The kids can roam and play if they wish and adults can enjoy the walking trails they have all around the park. The wildlife are familiar with people so they often come very close, hoping to be fed, and the community takes very good care of the park considering the flowers always look nice and there is never any garbage lying around. This is a perfect relaxation spot for those that need a day off.

They host all kinds of events at the Herschell Carrousel Factory Museum, like tea parties, birthday parties, and bazaars. The building is an old carousel factory where they carved each horse or other animal from wood for different carousel rides and then painted them to look lifelike and very beautiful. They provide exhibits and demonstrations on how they went about carving the animals and then the painting processes that they had to go through. It’s very fascinating and everyone can ride the old carousel that has been operating since before the 1930s.
