It is a local treasure for wildlife and relaxation. This is an enormous park on Lake Tarpon with trails, pavilions, picnic benches and much more. Each shelter has a parking area. There are modern bathrooms close by that service a few shelters. There are playground areas, nature trails and lots of shade.
This park also has a ball field, a dog park, and a boat ramp into Lake Tarpon. Swimming is not allowed though. Overall, this is a well kept up park best suitable for a group or family.

It is the best place to bring kids and packed up lunch. The history lessons behind the site are an interesting piece to add to the flavor. It has a well kept and smooth sailing bike trail and walking trail which is short and accessible. This is where the kids learned to swim in the 40s and 50s before public pools and home pools. This park offers a peaceful ambiance and a spectacular view.
