3. Lost World Caverns
Lost World is a 36.5 m (120 ft) dip cavern that boasts a vast underground wonderland featuring a variety of natural formations from beginning to end. The Lost World Caverns is home to the sparkling calcite of the Bridal Veil and Snowy Chandelier, which weighs approximately 30 tons (60,000 pounds), making it one of the largest stalactites in the US. In addition to that, there is a magnificent 8.5 m (28 ft) stalagmite in the cavern called the War Club, which is also a favorite among many people who visit Lost World. Photography is permitted in the cavern so do not forget to pack your camera when visiting.

4. Smoke Hole Caverns
Smoke Hole Caverns offers a unique opportunity to discover the rich history and culture of the Seneca Indians. It is believed that this community used to smoke their meat in the cavern hence its name, Smoke Hole Caverns. Today, the cavern has become a major tourist destination in West Virginia courtesy of its variety of breathtaking formations–among them helictites, stalagmites, and other cave draperies. Besides touring the cave, gem mining is also a favorite activity for many families visiting Smoke Hole. 5. Sinks of Gandy
Sinks of Gandy is a strange but beautiful feature formed as a result of creek and water seepages through the rocks of Yokum Knob. The cave is a bit different from the others discussed in this article in that it has an underground stream meandering through its beautiful trails. Clearly, you will be in contact with water and uneven terrain so ensure you pack the right footwear to avoid injuries and other health hazards. Another important point to note is that the sinks are actually situated in private properties but this should not discourage you in any way because the owners permit explorers and tourists to this wonderland.
