With Christmas fast approaching, you’re probably budgeting and creating a list for all of your family and friends that you’d like to buy for. But what do you get for your friend who is always jetting off to cool destinations around the world? Here are our suggestions for gifts that spark wanderlust or make travel easier:
1. Luggage
Great luggage is essential for travelers, especially luggage that is durable, looks nice, and fits a ton. 2. Packing cubes
Now that the luggage is sorted, packing cubes are my next suggestion as they keep all of your belongings organized and protected. 3. Travel guides and magazines
To help your loved one plan for their next getaway, how about buying a travel guide featuring their next destination. Travel magazines are also great options for friends who might need a bit of travel inspiration or help deciding on their next destination. My favorite travel magazines that provide great travel inspiration along with wonderful articles are Afar and Conde Nast Traveller. National Geographic or National Geographic Traveler also are great options if you are buying for someone really into culture or biodiversity. 4. Airbnb gift card
As a home/apartment accommodation rental website, Airbnb is definitely a favorite at Trip101. For the frequent traveler on your list, how about buying them an Airbnb gift card so they can book a beautiful accommodation for their next getaway!
Gift card recipients have 90 days to claim their card online, which links it to their Airbnb account. Then, the gift card can be redeemed at any time, but this is only available for Airbnb users paying in USD. Airbnb does plan on opening gift cards up to other countries and currencies soon though!
5. Book a tour for an upcoming trip

If you know your friend has an upcoming trip planned, a great gift is to pick a tour you know he or she will love. Viator is a great tour company that hooks you up with local tours and has tons of options for all interests.
6. Mini toiletries
If your friend often travels with a carry-on only, then he or she probably struggles with the 3.4 ounce (100 mL) liquid restriction on planes. Help your friend to prepare by purchasing their favorite products in sizes under 3.4 oz (100 mL) and stowing them in a handy waterproof bag.
7. Noise canceling headphones
Give your loved one the gift of peace and quiet to enjoy during a hectic travel day by purchasing them a pair of noise canceling headphones. These will quickly turn into their favorite travel item and they’ll certainly get a ton of use out of them at the office too!
8. Travel diary
A travel diary makes a great gift so your globetrotting friend can remember all of his or her travels. These are also a great budget gift, as you can pick them up in a range of prices from any stationary store near you.

My favorite e-reader is the Amazon Kindle because there are several different options at a variety of price points. If the traveler in your life already has an e-reader, you can give them the gift of new books by simply purchasing an e-book or e-book gift card.
