Quiet convenience
Ei8ht Wing is located on a quiet, residential street where it seems like the world floats by without a care. From the moment you walk into the clean, white-tiled open air lobby, it feels like you’ve entered a humble host’s country home. (Guests are required to take off their shoes, which contributes to that effect.)
Step outside the door, and you’re a two minute walk from the Siem Reap river front and five minutes from the Old Market, Angkor Night Market and the squirrely streets of the central city. Angkor Archeological Park, home to the majority of the Angkor temples, is a 15-minute drive, or a 7-kilometer bike ride. The staff can recommend and help you call a moto taxis or tuk-tuk driver to take you to the park and a tour guide to help enhance your experience.
If you book with Ei8ht Wing before arriving, ask about their convenient airport pickup service.
Simple and safe rooms
You’re not going to find luxury here, but you will definitely find comfort, hospitality and style. The ample double beds with brightly colored pillows and sheets sleep two comfortably underneath a mosquito net canopy. Air conditioning is optional, but all rooms come equipped with a fan and double-paned windows surprisingly good at keeping out heat and noise. The Wi-Fi and TV are “comforts of home” bonuses. Ensuite bathrooms contain a simple western toilet and shower, which is all you really need. Rooms also include a safe.
Traditional ambiance
Since the guest house only has eight rooms, you won’t find a lot of odd strangers lurking about, making you feel safe and secure for your entire stay. A front desk clerk is on site 24/7, too, so you’ll also feel safe meeting a moto driver at 5 am when you’re rushing to make it to Angkor Wat before sunrise.
Make sure to check out the balcony overlooking the street, or for even more privacy head to the back patio. Amidst the leafy shrubs, you’ll find a canopied love seat on the terra cotta tile and a great place to journal and ruminate in the experience.
Keep it simple and stay safe
If you’re looking for a quiet, clean, friendly spot to stay in the 15 - 20 USD range, Ei8ht Wing Guesthouse provides great service and a relaxing atmosphere within easy access of everything loud, delicious, fun and exciting about Siem Reap and Angkor Archeological Park.
