Malapascua is renowned for its scuba diving, particularly for seeing thresher sharks. Dive shops on the island organize day trips, and we can arrange everything for our guests, from gear rental to guided dives. It's advisable to book your diving excursions in advance, especially during peak seasons. The signature thresher shark dive happens early in the morning, and there are plenty of other diving opportunities throughout the day.
While diving is the main draw, there’s still plenty to enjoy for non-divers. You can snorkel right off the resort and spot blacktip reef sharks or join a boat tour for island-hopping adventures. The forested areas on the island are small but charming for a short walk, and the nearby cliffs offer spots for daring cliff jumps. Malapascua is all about embracing the ocean and its wonders.
But before you can enjoy all of that, one very important thing to remember is that boat transportation to Malapascua Island is only available from 6 AM to 5:30 PM. If you arrive at the Maya port after the last boat has left, you'll need to stay overnight on the mainland. It's crucial to plan your travel times to ensure a smooth journey.
