Lovingly decorated with photographs, spotlights, books and paintings, the house also makes you feel well taken care of with little additions like socks, coffee machine, fridge, sandwich maker, washer and dryer. You need to experience this wonderful bathtub on your own to figure out the reason behind its popularity among former guests. This all white bathroom seems like one of those relaxing spaces that one needs after a long hiking day. The WiFi in the house works great so playing your choice of music in the background shouldn’t be a problem while you soak in the hot water for hours. The little garden and patio is a lovely addition and becomes quite useful when you want to have your coffee outside. Or you can just walk to the best of the restaurants, hot dog and burger joints in the city within minutes. The luxuries of a good location!
This cozy downstairs flat is perfectly located within walking distance of anything you’d care to do in Reykjavik. Just bring a good pair of comfy shoes and you’re set! We spent three full days going to museums, visiting Harpa for an opera performance, seeing local landmarks, eating fish, fish, and more fish (and trying horse for the first time too). We totally fell in love with Reykjavik, and this warm and welcoming home with a truly luxurious bathtub made us feel completely at home between adventures. Our stay with Thorunn in Reykjavik was absolutely wonderful! Her home is quiet, located next to the water and carefully decorated with beautiful Icelandic pieces. She welcomed us to her home the moment we walked in which felt so good after a long traveling day. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. The living space is attractive and relaxing. With hardwood floors, interesting ceiling and lots of sunlight, it is a pleasant space to chat with the hosts, play a game of chess with other travelers or just reminisce your experiences altogether. The single/ twin bedroom is a tranquil and peaceful place with a great deal of sunshine and fresh air. The beds are soft, warm and spotless.The curtains are thick and allows a good sleep even with midnight sun. Relax after a tiring flight and all the action that one goes through while having a memorable vacation.
We were very, very late getting there, but they were still very kind and accommodating. The room itself was gorgeous and very clean. The sheets smelled so good, like lavender. She even made us breakfast in the morning, which was absolutely delicious. If you are looking for a place to stay near the airport, I cannot imagine a better choice, especially for the price. I was in Iceland for two weeks staying in different B&B’s and this place was by far my favorite. Rachel
