Summer is a wonderful season to travel in Madrid, a city that boasts one of the most extensive green areas among popular European cities. And what better way to get a nice view of the city than from above? The cableway is a 20-minute walk away from the city center, and for an affordable price you can enjoy an 11-minute guided tour, 40 meters above ground. Get to know the city’s most important sites from a different perspective while you sit comfortably and enjoy your lunch!

Madrid’s cableway is a low cost and very relaxing activity that you can enjoy while visiting. Its location is one of its main attractives: it allows you to see many important sites, such as the Royal Palace, the Temple of Debod, Madrid Rio Park, Príncipe Pío station, the Almudena Cathedral, Cuatro Torres Business Area, Casa de Campo, and many others.

The trip starts at Pintor Rosales station and ends at Casa de Campo station. It has an approximate duration of 11 minutes, which is accompanied by an audio guide that will help you locate the city’s most important sites, as well as give you with brief history information. Take advantage of the amazing view and capture unforgettable memories of the city and your loved ones. The cabins are in great conditions and the ventilation is sure to make the ride very comfortable.

The cableway is very family-friendly. Once you arrive at Casa de Campo station, it’s up to you to decide which activities you want to do next. Little kids can play in the ball pit or in the small maze. Not-so-little kids can play with their parents in the same area. However, if what you want is to relax, you can visit the terrace which also provides an amazing view of the city and the Amusement Park. I personally recommend that you buy a snack at the cafeteria and then enjoy a beautiful Spanish sunset.

If you’re looking for stronger emotions or a more diverse experience, you can also go to the Amusement Park or the Zoo Aquarium Madrid. Both activities can be included in your fare, which will save you some money when compared to buying each separately. Both attractions are within walking distance, but you can also take a bus provided by the staff. The cableway plus Amusement Park fare is 26.50EUR (approximately 29 USD), a better deal than buying a ticket for the cableway alone which is 5.9 EUR (approximately 6.5 USD).

If you’re a souvenir fan, there is a shop at the end of the trip where you can buy teddies, mugs, key chains, Spanish fans, fridge magnets, and even a photo of your arrival at the cableway, which can be printed and framed for you to have.

The nearest metro station is Argüelles, which is about a minute’s walk away going through Marqués de Urquijo street. It’s very easy to get there because of the signs that have been put up. I advise you to arrive early on the weekends because it can get really crowded!
